Albertson's Promo Deal

Albertson's has a promo deal running this week where if you buy $20.00 or more of participating General Mills Products you will save $7.00 on your next shopping trip. Usually this kind of promotion is great because the $20.00 is before store and manufacture coupons, thus your out of pocket cost can be lower than the $20.00. Also, you can usually roll the coupon into your next transaction and use the $7.00 to lower your next out of pocket cost.

Well, this time there is some fine print in the Ad that I want to make sure you are aware of. It states that the minimum purchase requirements is after manufacturer and store coupons, and also that there is a limit of one $7.00 coupon offer per customer. So, if your store is following these rules, you will not be able to roll the $7.00 into another transaction and get $7.00 back again, and your total will have to be $20.00 after your coupons have been scanned. :( Hopefully this is not a permanent thing for the store now. However, every store has their own way of following the rules so you may want to ask at yours!

$100 in coupons from P&G with $50.00 purchase

This deal has been posted all over the Internet, so I am not sure exactly who to give credit to...

If you head over to http://www.thankyoumom.com/coupons.jsp P&G is offering coupon books with $100 worth of coupons if you purchase $50.00 worth of P&G products between February 1st and April 15, 2010. This says it is before coupons, and there are a lot of deals to be found on P&G products. You just save your receipts (they do not have to be on the same receipt), print out the form, and mail it all in. Then you just have to wait until you receive the coupon book in the mail! This is a great way to build up your coupon supply. P&G has so many brands for household products so make sure to check it out. More than likely you will easily meet the $50.00!

Free Johnson's Soap Buddies

Smartsource has put out a new coupon for $1.00 / 1 Johnson Baby's product. You can use this coupon on the Johnson's Soap Buddies that are around $1.00 at Target and Walmart and other stores http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=5S2ZUA6PWPEPO It was the first coupon that came up on the page for me. I have gotten a few of these for my kids and they really like them. The coupon states not on trial size items, and this product is a regular sized item and should work just fine.

There is also a $2.00 / 2 Right Guard coupon on Smartsource as well, that you may want to print. It doesn't exclude size so you can use it to get two free trial size deodorants! Remember, when using coupons you get the best deal if you use it on the smallest size product you can, and when there is not a size restriction you should be able to use it on the trial size product.

And then also there is a coupon for $1.00 / 1 Johnson Shampoo and it does not have a size restriction either, so you can use it to get some free Baby Shampoo in the trial section of many stores. Here http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=rlsudhw9869799&bt=wi&o=9997&c=JB&p=BdK9cFm0 These are great for baby gift baskets!

CREST CAVITY PROTECTION TOOTHPASTE ON $.04!

This week you can get Crest Cavity Protection toothpaste for only $.04! To do this you will be stacking a manufacturers coupon with a store coupon at Walgreens! This deal should work until 2/27, so that means there is a couple of weeks to take advantage of this deal! I love stocking up on toothpaste when it is free or super cheap!
So purchase 1 Crest Cavity Protection toothpaste (6.4 oz.) regularly priced at $2.29
Use the .75/1 coupon from 2/7 PG insert
Stack that with the $1.50/1 Walgreens coupon from the February coupon booklet {expires 2/27!} (The monthly Walgreens coupon booklets are usually found at the front of the store. You should only need to use one of these coupons even if you are purchasing several tubes of toothpaste and it should deduct $1.50 for each one.)
Final price: .04!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I apologize for the lack of posting the last little while. This post has no great deal in it, but I just want to say how thankful I am for all of those in my life I get to love and who love me. I am at home with just my little baby this weekend for Valentine's Day. Last year it was just me and her also, the other two kids and husband had gone off on a family vacation and since the baby was only a few weeks old, I opted out and got the rest I needed. Well this year, after packing the car and heading out of town to visit family, my beautiful little girl decided it was a good time to get a stomach bug. So needless to say, her and I have been laying around, and doing lots of laundry the last two days. It sure makes you realize how much you have and are blessed with when you go without for a few days. I am so blessed with a wonderful husband and three great kids whom I love more than I ever thought possible. I hope you all have a great day with your loved ones and continue to show your love and appreciation not just today, but all year long.

ASKING QUESTIONS

So I wanted to share an experience that I had today regarding using coupons. Two days ago I headed into Albertson's to get a deal on some diapers. There is a coupon out for $4.00 off of Diaper Basics (the Albertson's brand of diapers) with a purchase of $7.00 or more. I had heard the diapers were on sale, so I headed over there to see and sure enough they were. I picked up two boxes of the diapers since I had two coupons, and went to check-out. The first coupon scanned just fine, but the second one beeped (AAHHH!) The cashier was very nice and checked the coupon out, reading the wording and saying he was not sure what was wrong. He asked another checker, who looked at the coupon, stated that there was not a correct bar code on the coupon, and that it was fraudulent. I was of course embarrassed, I informed them I had gotten the coupon off of a valid coupon source, the numbers on the coupon were different, and there was even the watermark on the coupon (a few things to check to make sure the coupon is valid as I know there are fraudulent ones out there). The checker voided off the first coupon and told me they couldn't use them. I did buy the diapers, but the deal was not that good.

I went home and looked up the diapers on-line and found the company e-mail. I e-mailed them asking whether the coupon was good or not. I received a reply the next day, apologizing for the misunderstanding and that the coupon was good and the store had been notified of the problem. I thought that was the end, and was glad to know I had not been trying to use a bad coupon, and sometimes that is just the way it goes.

Well, today I got a call from the local store manager. He first apologized for the hassle and that the coupon had not been taken as it should have. They have a two page list of coupons that are frauds and he felt the checkers must have just been misinformed. Anyway, he was very nice, and said they had just had a meeting to let all the checkers know this coupon is valid, and to apologize there would be a gift card waiting for me the next time I go into the store!! What a great surprise, and such a nice apology at that. I had not intended to get anything out of it, other than to know if I could use the coupon, and if I should spread the word or not, but WOW!

So long story short, make sure to stick-up for yourself using the knowledge you have, but don't get mean. The checkers are trying their best to help the customers, and with all the bad coupons out there, it may be yours that is not taken. You can just leave without the item, or still buy it as I did, and then it doesn't hurt to do some checking around and even sending the company an e-mail can't hurt. You never know what will come your way

SIDE NOTE: To get the Baby Basic coupon go to http://moneysavingmom.com/2010/02/41-baby-basics-diaper-coupon.html where Money Saving Mom has a post and a link for the coupon. There is also a link to check and see if the diapers are sold in a store near you.

Thanks Money Saving Mom for the tip on the coupon!
